Awesome special.

If you decide to skip this documentary, the main point is Gabe Sapolsky knows how to pick the best talent and groom them for the WWE (Punk, Bryan, Cesaro, Zayn, Harper, Ambrose, Rollins, Kalisto, KENTA...kind of, Young Bucks, Kevin Steen, Solomon Crowe).

Ya know, it's hard for me to imagine becoming a bigger fan of the former Shield than I already am... WWE's special pulled that off. My only complaint is that they couldn't have put some of that into a special to air BEFORE Summerslam.

A few thoughts:

I hold to the belief that Triple H LOVES the Shield. That bodes well for them. I get the impression he looks on them like a proud father.

When it comes to wrestling and talent, I will commit every word Paul Heyman says to heart.

While the special doesn't seem to be interested in bullshitting us for kayfabe's sake, they do a nice job of weaving Seth Rollins attitude into the narrative, which plays nicely in to back up his betrayal of the Shield.

I hope WWE does produce a Shield DVD before too long. While this special was great, I think there is plenty of material left to look at to make for a solid DVD doc. I would love to hear more about The Shield when they were together and recapping some of the great matches they had and backstory of the Shield's evolution. I'd also like more insight in to how their post-Shield evolutions have been influenced (if for some other reason to hear somebody try and defend their music).

ROH and DGUSA get a lot of props, again, from WWE and the stars for their roles in discovering this talent. While ROH may not have had the cultural impact on wrestling that ECW had, it seems to be playing out that it has just as much, if not more of an eye for talent.

It can't be much longer before Zayn's on the roster. I just hope they have plans for him.

As with pretty much the entirety of the Shield's run and the present, it's clear the WWE is making goo-goo eyes at Reigns, but Dean Ambrose is the god of this special.

My favorite part of the special though is the way they chronicled the training Seth and Dean were doing for their matches.

Seth Rollins goes through his insane looking work out routine that wears me out just watching him.

Dean Ambrose RUNS OUT INTO THE WILDERNESS to train!
I love it when you mark out over The Shield. :kappa:

Glad to see I'm not the only one here who watched that.

I've seen a few WWE documentaries in my day, and they're usually pretty good due to the outstanding production done on them. But the one that's always stood out to me is the CM Punk documentary, because it was so different than your average "I wanted to be a wrestler when I grew up. Here's a picture of me flexing as a 10 year old. I went to wrestling school. It was hard, but here I am." Obviously he has a much different backstory than most, but it was so cool to me how they kicked kayfabe to the curb and straight up talked about the various storylines Punk brought into Vince. Plus, the reactions, both positive and negative, that Punk and officials had to various angles. I sincerely wish they would make a part 2 to that documentary now, as I could watch it all day.

I forgot why I had started typing about the CM Punk documentary for, but all you need to know if this Shield documentary wasn't just as good, it was better. There's no bullshit storylines being forced down your throat, and it all feels so genuine. All of their stories coming into NXT felt so reminiscent of Guardians of the Galaxy. There's this moment right after it details all three guys' individual frustrations (Seth's ego, Dean's absence, and Roman's inexperience) where they all get called up together and the camera zooms in on them touching fists. Holy bejeezus, I marked out HARD. Kayfabe 2.0 at its finest.

They released this at the perfect time, too. As many of you know, I was becoming less fond of Roman Reigns by the day, and I was ready to give up on him after his match at SummerSlam. But this special has renewed my hope for him to succeed. I was shocked at how cool he seems, though. I get that the whole "silent, badass mercenary" thing might seem like a nifty gimmick, but I think if they want to push him as a face, they should have him act like himself. For instance, when he and Ambrose were just sitting against the wall waiting for a trainer, he was just laughing and smiling. Seemed like a total bro, instead of the cocky asshole they're making him out to be lately. I want that Roman.

Rollins seems like a total dick and I feel like I wouldn't like him if I met him in person. But I dig his attitude towards the business. I was starting to lose faith in him due to his recent work on the mic. However, the Seal of Approval from guys like Bryan and Heyman reassures me that he will do just fine.

Dean Ambrose is the guy. He is THE guy. I want him to win the title, I want him to be the one to take down Lesnar, and I want him to be the #1 guy in the company. That's all I have to say.

Tl;dr: This whole special was amazing and if you haven't watched it yet, quit reading this and go check it out.

Just saw it as well actually. Makes you want to see more little tidbits of Ambrose doing shoot interviews. Like, the dude is the character. He was always my favorite Shield member, but even I didn't really think he'd turn out to be this fucking cool. Of course, the documentary as a whole is excellent. I honestly didn't expect it to be nearly as good as it was. Something about those three is more organic than anything I've seen in the past decade or so.

Get Reigns away from the WWE writers, he might just be the golden god EVERYBODY sees in him. At the rate we're going though, WWE's going to make him Cena 2.0, if he's lucky. Ryback 2.0 if he's not.

The WWE Network is FREE for the whole month of November, including Survivor Series. Not only that, but starting in December, the network will literally be $9.99 a month, no six month commitment.

Basically this means they haven't hit their goal, and are desperate.

They are quite desperate. They confirmed 731,000 subscribers, but they need to be around 1 million in order to break even.

I'm fairly certain they need more than 1 million. I know that is the number they throw around, but they likely expected to have 1 million before they opened up to the rest of the world (outside the US). But that isn't happening. I honestly don't think the Network is going to break even for them, not any time soon.

It's already been booked - I got a great deal on Priceline!
Given that they're only ANNOUNCING the WWE Network here in the UK on November 1st, I hope our first month is free...

Also: Hope it's not £9.99 regularly. To match the American price of $9.99, it'd be £5.92...

WWE Network launches in the UK this coming Monday, November 3rd. Suggestion seems to be that they'll match the $9.99 price here - so it's looking like £6.25/month here. Wait to see if November is a freebie like it is elsewhere, but that makes a very good start for the UK.

Although I doubt Sky Box Office will be happy...

Do you have to give out CC info for this free month? Such as sign up normally get the free month and have to cancel after the month?

Well... that, err. Awkward.

WWE Network's launch in the UK has just been delayed "until further notice". Unbelievable. Right at the last minute, they've stopped it!

21 MINUTES BEFORE THE LAUNCH THIS WAS ANNOUNCED!

WWE asked UK fans to fill in a survey. One of the questions:

"Have you subscribed to the WWE Network?"

Also in the section where they ask "Which of the following are your favourite WWE Legends", Kelly Kelly is an option but Trish Stratus isn't.
