So, I was thinking. Whenever we do get real RPs up and running, why not create accounts for each character? Not only would it whore the forum's member count, but after they die, they could be designated as such, removing their ability to whine about getting killed. We could also add subforums for active and completed/dead RPs, leaving this main forum here for submission purposes and single-writer stories. Whenever someone wants to join in on an existing RP, they can either make a new account or ask an admin to make one. Then, they could come post character stats in a thread in this forum and request to be given RPer status which would grant them access to the section for active RPs, but prevent the account from posting in any other section outside of Role Play (dead RP accounts could ask an admin to give them access, but the living ones will be strictly RP specific). And another thing. This forum has the option of creating webpages. Once we get this thing up and running, I'm going to begin archiving finished projects this way, be them RPs, prose, or what have you. The respective authors, could, of course, ask that they be removed from said archive and I will oblige, but the standard procedure will be to add them after they have been completed. I figure that if we're going to do this, we might as well do it right. Thoughts? |

Rather than making new accounts for each character; why not simply add a subforum for characters to be posted in? As most, if not all, RPGs have need for stats, it'd be a good place to keep the mechanics from getting lost within the flow of the story. And it'd provide an area for the person running the story to see what each character should be reasonably capable of, as well as allowing those who lack prowess in a particular system a feel for how characters should be created. All in all, I rather like the idea; I just think multiple accounts per person may be difficult for the individual to deal with. |

Perhaps the following subsections - Character Sheets and Mechanics (mechanics for if anyone wants to make their own) Open Stories Closed Stories (this forum would be locked for archive purposes) OOC area (although this could be part of the Roleplay section as a whole) |
